Terms of Service
Plain-English terms for website projects and monthly updates. Last updated: November 2, 2026.
- After you pay in full, your website is yours. Your domain is always in your name.
- A free homepage concept comes before payment. If you don't like it, you owe nothing.
- Full development starts after you approve the concept and pay the one-time fee.
- Changed your mind before we send your first draft? You get a full refund.
- Monthly updates are optional and you can cancel anytime. You keep your site if you cancel.
- We don't promise Google rankings, sales or 100% uptime.
1. Who we are
Studio Hongs (홍쓰 스튜디오; formerly Overnight Web Co.; "we", "us") is a small remote web design studio based in Seoul, South Korea. We work with clients in the United States by email and text. "You" means the business owner who hires us.
2. Ownership
- Your website. Once your invoice is paid in full, you own the final design, page text and site files we made for you. We send you a copy of the files when you ask, at no charge.
- Your domain. Your domain name (for example yourbusiness.com) is registered in your name and paid to the registrar by you. We never hold it hostage.
- Your content. Your logo, photos, text and business information stay yours. You confirm you have the right to use anything you send us.
- Tools we use. Fonts, code libraries and services such as hosting or form tools are licensed from third parties and stay under their own terms. Most are free. If anything needs a paid license, we tell you before we use it.
- Our portfolio. We may show your site as an example of our work. Tell us if you prefer we don't, and we won't.
- Before payment. Until the invoice is paid, the design and files belong to us and are not used on a live site.
3. Price and payment
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and shown on our website. Launch prices may change for new projects, but never for a project you've already approved.
- No deposit. Before payment, we create a free homepage concept. This is a preview of your homepage, not the full website.
- If you want to go ahead, you approve the concept and pay the one-time project fee, either with the secure payment button for your plan on our website or with a secure online invoice we send you. Full website development begins after payment.
- If you decide not to go ahead after seeing the concept, you pay nothing and we don't use that concept for you.
- Domain registration and any other third-party fees are paid directly by you and are not part of our price.
- Any payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. We never ask for card numbers by email or text.
Refunds for one-time project fees
- Before your first draft: if you ask before we send your first full-site draft, we refund 100% of what you paid.
- If we can't deliver: if we can't deliver what's included in your plan, we refund 100% of what you paid.
- After your first draft: once we've sent your first draft, the work is done for you, so we normally don't refund it. We keep working with you through the revisions included in your plan. If you're still unhappy, email us and we'll work out a fair solution in good faith.
- After launch: once your site is live and the files are yours, the project fee is not refundable.
- How refunds are paid: to the original payment method through our payment provider, within 5 business days of approval. We refund the full amount you paid and don't deduct our payment processing fees.
- We can't refund fees you paid directly to third parties, such as your domain registrar.
- Please email us at [email protected] before opening a payment dispute, so we can sort it out quickly. This doesn't limit any rights you have under the law or under your payment provider's buyer protection.
4. What's included and revisions
- Launch offer ($179 One-Page Starter): one page built on one of our existing layouts with the text and photos you provide, 1 round of revisions and the first 12 months of hosting. Custom features are not included. Limited to our first 10 paying clients.
- Each plan includes what's listed on the pricing section at the time you approve your project.
- Your first draft is usually ready about 3 business days after payment and after you send your details and photos.
- Revisions: the One-Page ($299) and Small Business ($599) plans include 2 rounds of revisions after your first draft; the $179 launch offer includes 1 round. One round is one list of changes to the pages in your plan, within the agreed scope, sent together, such as wording, photos, colors, layout and order. Revisions don't include new features or a full redesign.
- Not included: extra revision rounds ($19 per round), extra basic content pages ($75 per page; a basic content page uses your site's existing design and sections), new features such as online stores, online payments, custom booking systems, message boards or admin and editing tools (quoted after a quick chat), logo design (other than the optional $5 simple text logo: your business name set in a font, with no symbol or brand design), or a full redesign. Google Business Profile setup assistance ($19) is help setting up a profile you own; we can't guarantee Google's verification, its timing or your search placement. Add-on prices are listed on our website, and anything else gets a written quote before we start. We don't offer professional photography or ad management.
5. Hosting
- First year. Your one-time price includes the first 12 months of hosting, starting on your launch date, on a reputable third-party hosting service.
- After the first year. Hosting is $96 per year (U.S. dollars), billed once a year in advance. We email a reminder and an invoice at least 30 days before each renewal date. If you're on Monthly Updates, hosting is included for every month you're subscribed, with no separate hosting charge.
- What hosting covers. Keeping your site online on our hosting account, the security certificate (https), keeping your site's contact form working, keeping a backup copy of your site files, and fixing problems caused by our hosting setup or our code at no charge. It does not cover content changes, new pages or features, your domain registration or renewal, business email, or paid third-party services.
- Price changes. The price above applies to your second year. We can change the hosting price for later years only by emailing you at least 60 days before your renewal date. You can then renew at the new price or leave as described below.
- If you don't renew or want to leave. Tell us by email anytime. Your site stays online through the period you've paid for. If a renewal invoice isn't paid, we email you at least twice and keep the site online for 30 more days before taking it offline. We never delete your files without first offering you a copy.
- Your files and moving hosts. We send you a complete copy of your site files at no charge, anytime you ask. We include written steps for moving to another host and for pointing your domain there. If you'd like us to do the move for you, it's a flat $75 for our standard sites; custom interactive builds are quoted first. Your domain is always registered in your name, so you can move it without us.
- Outages and problems. No hosting provider can guarantee 100% uptime, so we don't. If your site goes down or the contact form stops working, email us. We reply within one business day (Monday to Friday, Seoul time) and fix problems caused by our hosting or our code at no charge. Problems caused by third parties (such as your domain registrar, email provider or other outside services) or by changes someone else makes to your site are not covered, but we'll help you find the cause. If your site is unavailable for more than 7 days in a row because of our hosting or our code, we refund the unused part of that hosting year on request.
- Editing. The standard website packages do not include a visual editor. You can request changes from us or have another developer update the site files. If you need to edit content yourself, we'll quote that setup separately.
6. Monthly updates plan
- Optional. Billed monthly in advance. Cancel anytime by email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund partial months.
- Includes up to 30 minutes of small content updates per month, such as changing text, photos, hours or service details. Requests are completed within 2 business days. Unused time does not roll over.
- Bigger requests (new pages or features) are quoted first.
- Hosting is included for every month you are subscribed. If you cancel after your first 12 months, hosting continues on the yearly plan in section 5, starting from the end of your last paid month.
- If you cancel, your website stays yours. We send you all of the files and help you move them if you ask.
- If a monthly payment is more than 30 days late, we may pause updates and email you before taking any other step. We will not delete your files without giving you a chance to get a copy.
7. Search engines (SEO)
We set up basic search engine settings such as page titles, descriptions and a sitemap. No one controls Google's results, so we don't guarantee any ranking, traffic, calls or sales.
8. Your responsibilities
- Make sure your business information is correct: prices, hours, licenses, insurance and service areas.
- Only send us photos, logos and text you have the right to use.
- Reviews and testimonials on your site must come from real customers. We won't write fake reviews.
- Follow the laws and licensing rules that apply to your business and industry.
- Answer questions and review drafts within a reasonable time. If a project is on hold for more than 60 days with no reply, we may close it. You can restart it anytime.
9. AI-generated images
On request, we can create images with AI tools. In the U.S., images made entirely by AI may not be protected by copyright, so others may be able to reuse them. For your most important photos, such as your team, your work and your storefront, we recommend real photos you own.
10. Accessibility
We build with common accessibility practices: readable text, color contrast, image descriptions and sites that work with a keyboard and on phones. No one can promise a site is fully compliant with every accessibility standard or law. If you need a formal accessibility audit, we recommend a specialist.
11. Privacy and forms
- Contact, quote and booking forms send customer details to your email or a sheet you own. You are responsible for how your business uses that information.
- We can add a simple privacy page to your site. It is a template, not legal advice.
- We only use the information you share with us to build and maintain your site, or to reply to your inquiry. We don't sell it. Our contact form is delivered by email through a third-party form service (FormSubmit).
- AI assistant. The chat assistant on our website is an AI, not a person. It answers from our published prices and terms, but it can make mistakes; our website and these terms are what count. Your questions are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate replies and may be processed and stored by Google under its terms. We don't use them for anything other than answering you. Please don't share passwords, payment details or other sensitive information in the chat.
- Live chat. The chat button on our website is provided by tawk.to. If you use it, tawk.to processes your messages and technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit so we can reply to you. Please don't share passwords or payment details in chat.
- Advertising measurement on our website. We advertise with Google Ads. Our homepage loads the Google tag, which uses cookies and similar technology to tell us whether a visit from one of our ads led to a contact-form submission. Google may receive information such as your IP address, browser details, the page you visited and the ad you clicked. We do not send your name, email or the contents of your message to Google. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage ad personalization at My Ad Center or block cookies in your browser.
12. Limits of our responsibility
- We work hard to deliver a site that works well, but we provide it "as is" after you approve it.
- We aren't responsible for lost profits or business losses, or for problems caused by third-party services (hosting, domain registrars, email, payment or form providers).
- To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for that project in the last 12 months.
13. If something goes wrong
Email us at [email protected]. We'll reply within one business day and work with you in good faith to fix it. Most issues can be solved with a quick change.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your project is the one posted when you approved it. Changes to the monthly plan take effect only after we email you at least 30 days in advance.
